Easter Bunny, vendors and food all at the fairgrounds for spring fling weekend

ST. CLAIRSVILLE — A spring fling event at the Belmont County Fairgrounds is set to take place this weekend for lovers of Easter, food, lemonade and crafts and vendors.

Auctions Beyond Actions is organizing a craft and vendor event this weekend from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Wise Building at the fairgrounds, located at Gate 3 by the Carnes Center, 45420 Roscoe Rd, St. Clairsville.

The event will have more than 40 vendors, a 50/50 raffle, basket auction, food and a visit from the Easter Bunny.

The baskets are full of different items made by the vendors and other goodies.

Some vendors who will be at the fairgrounds include candle makers, wood crafters, mug vendors, Mary Kay stands, jewelry makers, Girl Scout cookies, if still available, a coaster maker, ceramics and pottery makers, wreath makers, cosmetics makers, jam and jelly makers, candy and bread makers and Riverview Gardens.

Mark Matthias, organizer from Auctions Beyond Actions, tries to get more local small businesses for the event but will have some national vendors, such as Tupperware and Pampered Chef.

Matthias puts on the event every year, with one in the spring and one in the winter for Christmas.

It is free admission for the event. All proceeds from vendors who pay to set up at the event will go to food pantries across the Ohio Valley.

Mr. Slurpy from Potomac Concessions, which serves lemonade and snow cones will be there along with Barbecue by Darrin.

Fire-Water Dreams will make its way to the event to give children rides on the fire truck as long as their parents are with them.

Fire-Water Dreams is a business whose main goal is to provide a fun and unique experience that children will cherish and remember forever.

Matthias’s goal with this event is to raise money for the food pantries but also to support local small businesses.

He added it’s a chance for small businesses to sell their products to the public.

He noted a lot of the vendors have regular customers, but businesses will be able to make new ones.

Mark said the event usually has repeat vendors who come back every year, which is how he knows the event went well.

“If you’re looking for any kind of Easter present or looking for something nice for yourself, something different, because we have such a great variety of different products,” he said.
