ST. CLAIRSVILLE — Despite temperatures being in the lower 40s, spring is here and that means it’s time for the St. Clairsville Area Chamber of Commerce to roll out its Food Truck Fridays series.

“Food Truck Friday began several years ago as a way to bring more variety to our community’s food options, and it has been extremely successful. Thanks to the growing interest and support, we’ve seen a real expansion in our local dining scene, now including a diner, a sandwich shop, a sit-down restaurant and four pizza shops in town,” St. Clairsville Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Wendy Anderson said. “In many ways, Food Truck Friday serves a dual purpose: it brings people into our town, and it provides our residents and visitors with a diverse selection of food choices they may not otherwise have access to.”

Friday’s kickoff event saw Wood Fired Pizza Company serving residents with pizza, breadsticks and cannolis from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in front of the Belmont County Courthouse on Main Street.

Wood Fired Pizza Company food truck has been owned and operated since 2016 by Tiffany Nardo-Amos and Vance Amos. Its success led to the opening of a brick-and-mortar location inside Wheeling’s Waterfront Hall in 2024.

Anderson said that what she believes makes Food Truck Friday so special is that each food truck has its own following, which draws new visitors into downtown St. Clairsville each week.

“Many of these visitors may have never been to our town before, and this event gives them a chance to see all the great things we have to offer,” she said.

Anderson said that as of now, the schedule for the upcoming Food Truck Fridays is:

April 25 — The Gringos Taco

May 2 — The Gringos Taco

May 9 — Wood Fired Pizza Company

May 16 — B-One BBQ

May 23 — The Gringos Taco

She said she expects the schedule will expand once summer approaches and added that anyone interested in participating as a vendor should call the St. Clairsville Area Chamber of Commerce at 740-695-9623 to inform her ahead of time.
