MARTINS FERRY — The Times Leader invites community members to enjoy Community Night with the Pittsburgh Pirates this summer.

The event is scheduled for July 1, when the Buccos take on the St. Louis Cardinals with a 6:40 p.m. start at PNC Park.

“There’s nothing more fun and relaxing than an evening at the ballpark,” Times Leader Managing Editor Jennifer Compston-Strough said. “That’s why we are delighted to bring this opportunity to area residents, so that they can enjoy a great game with the great company of their family, friends and neighbors.”

Tickets for the event cost $65 each and are available now by calling 740-283-4711. Choose Option No. 2 and ask for Times Leader Pirate tickets. The cost includes bus transportation to and from Pittsburgh, admission to the game and a $5 concession credit.

The bus will leave The Times Leader office at 200 S. Fourth St. in Martins Ferry at 4:15 p.m., and attendees should arrive at the office by 4 p.m. There is ample free parking available around the building.

Participating in community night is a great way to take in a baseball game, Compston-Strough said. It’s a chance to sit back, relax and not have to worry about traffic or parking issues.

Demand for tickets to community night is expected to be high, so fans are encouraged to make their plans to attend and purchase their tickets early.

In addition to The Times Leader, the Community Night is sponsored by IBEW Local Union 246 North Central Ohio Chapter of Steubenville.
