Union Local Middle School students tour Compressor Station

Photos Provided

UnioN LOCAL Middle School’s 7th grade Career/Tech toured a Compressor Station owned by Energy Transfer. While there, Mr. Meholovitch & Mrs. Kemp’s classes learned about the pipeline network that feeds our country with natural gas. Moreover, they learned about the Seneca Compressor Stations purpose in distributing/pushing the gas supplies using four 5,000hp motor/pumps. Energy Transfer provided the necessary safety clothing and gear and walked the students in and around their facility. Overall, it was a great trip as the kids learned about the various pipeline and compressor related careers. As the year winds down, we would like to thank Mr. Rateno and Dr. Shutler for their continued support for tradesman and college career related trips. These hands-on experiences make lasting impressions for the students as they think about their role in our country’s future workforce.
