Weekend rubbernecking in Belmont County

Photos provided by Belmont County Tourism Council

Ethan Kyer unveils his Eagle Scout project on Saturday during the 2025 Belmont County Heritage Trail Rubberneck Tour on Saturday. He reconstructed a well and pump at the Great Western Schoolhouse, which was a stop on the Ohio National Road-themed, self-driving tour. Also during the tour, a 1955 Cadillac owned by Bill Rittenhouse of St. Clairsville was parked along U.S. 40 near the Benjamin Lundy House, shown in the background, bringing back memories of scenes in the area during decades gone by. And Curitis Kyer and Brayden Locke did living history presentations during the tour, posing as construction workers on the National Road. Other stops on the tour included historic downtown St. Clairsville, the Belmont County Heritage Museum, Belmont County Fairgrounds and the Black Horse Inn at Morristown, the future home of the Underground Railroad Museum.
