AMfg Labs announces expansion in Belmont County
BARNESVILLE — More than $1 million is being invested to help an Ohio business expand its operations in Barnesville.
AMfg Labs LLC, in collaboration with JobsOhio, Ohio Southeast Economic Development and Belmont County Port Authority, announced an investment of over $1.1 million to expand its operations in Barnesville, creating 15 new jobs.
The investment is being supported by a $350,000 JobsOhio Revitalization Grant.
“AMfg Labs is an innovative, Ohio-founded company creating American-made products critical to the U.S. industrial sector and national defense,” said JobsOhio President and CEO J.P. Nauseef. “The revitalization of its current building will allow AMfg to expand operations, create new jobs in the advanced manufacturing space, and continue to advance its cutting-edge injection molding and 3-D printing solutions for its growing list of clients.”
Established in Barnesville in 2022, AMfg Labs is an advanced manufacturing and research and product development center that focuses on high-performing materials and processes that leverage innovative forming technologies associated with casting, injection molding and 3-D printing. The process produces molds or structures essential for producing intricate composite materials, notably used in industries such as the aerospace, defense and automotive sectors.
“We are incredibly excited and grateful to receive this grant from JobsOhio. This support will significantly enhance our ability to advance cutting-edge manufacturing solutions here at AMfg Labs,” said Luke Phalen, chief operating officer of AMfg Labs. “We sincerely appreciate the continued efforts of JobsOhio, OhioSE, and the Belmont County Port Authority for their dedication to fostering innovation and growth in our region. Their support has been instrumental in helping us take the next step in our journey, and we look forward to the positive impact this partnership will bring to both our company and the local community.”
AMfg Labs is committed to driving domestic manufacturing in the United States and Eastern Ohio. The company is expanding its facility space to set up 3-D printers, injection molding machines, composite fabrication, sintering (binding particles into a solid mass with heat or pressure), and a training center to support its growth and industry demand.
“The Belmont County Port Authority is thrilled to be a part of this transformative project,” Larry Merry, port authority executive director, said. “AMfg Labs is set to revolutionize the village of Barnesville and Belmont County by creating high-tech research and development, as well as manufacturing jobs that will drive economic growth and innovation in our community.”
The JobsOhio Revitalization Program offers loans and grants to bridge the financial gap between the appealing cost of Brownfield sites and the cost of site redevelopment. This program mitigates financial risk and accelerates projects, returning land and buildings to productive use more efficiently.
“We are pleased to be a part of the growth of AMfg Labs as the company expands into Belmont County,” Katy Farber, OhioSE interim president, said. “Advanced manufacturing is at the core of many operations in the OhioSE region, and we welcome this new investment.”
