The charred remains of a commercial vehicle that caught fire on Interstate 70 around noon Wednesday stand alongside the highway. The Ohio State Highway Patrol confirmed that the blaze completely closed the eastbound lanes for much of the afternoon, though a single lane of traffic was opened with intermittent closures to allow for cleanup beginning around 3 p.m. Loaders and dump trucks could be seen surrounding the burned trailer and working to load debris from the highway and haul it away. Traffic was being rerouted to U.S. 40 at exit 208, with motorists experiencing long delays between Morristown and East Richland. A patrol dispatcher did not know if anyone was injured as a result of the fire but said the roadway was expected to fully reopen sometime Wednesday evening.
