WEST LIBERTY — West Liberty University announced Wednesday a major expansion of its Metro Rate, now extending to every county in Ohio and Pennsylvania. According to a news release, this initiative reaffirms the university’s dedication to providing students with a high-quality education at a cost that is manageable for families.

“West Liberty University is committed to supporting students and families across our region,” said Katie Cooper, Vice President of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management. “Expanding the Metro Rate allows more students from our neighboring states to access our comprehensive, personalized education without facing financial barriers.”

The WLU Metro Rate is a reduced tuition rate for all of Ohio and Pennsylvania, as well as select counties in Virginia and Maryland. According to the WLU website, that rate saves students about $2,400 annually.

Previously available only to select counties, the Metro Rate has already enabled countless students to pursue their educational goals while keeping costs within reach. This expansion marks a significant milestone in the university’s mission to increase accessibility for students across the tri-state area.

By expanding the Metro Rate, West Liberty University is broadening access to its comprehensive and personalized education, reinforcing its position as a regional leader in higher education.
