ST. CLAIRSVILLE — Ochsenbine Custom Apparel is reopening to serve the Ohio Valley after the business took a three-year break from operating.
Cody Ochsenbine and his wife, Joanie, reopened their screen printing business, Ochsenbine Custom Apparel, early in 2025, after taking a three-year hiatus. The business previously served the region for more than 12 years with custom T-shirt screen printing, creating unique and personalized designs. Designs were also added onto hats and other promotional items.
The pair made custom T-shirts for schools, organizations, special events, businesses and personal projects and are back at it now.
The three-year pause happened because of the workload and amount of time Cody and Joanie had available to run the business. They weren’t in the position to hire workers and had their first young daughter.
After some time, Cody said, people started telling the couple they wished they were still in business and that they missed them. He said people told them they couldn’t get the same quality merchandise they did at Ochsenbine Custom Apparel.
The couple decided to bring the business back because their daughter is in school now, which means Joanie can help Cody more, and because they enjoyed what they did and now have the time to bring it back.
“We really enjoy it, the whole process. I love the process of screen printing and making apparel,” Cody said. “And we also really enjoy giving back.”
The business offers discounts on fundraiser items.
Although the business is offering the same services as in the past, it has some new equipment, including a brand new automated press that can do six different colors on a shirt, plus an embroidery machine that has four heads to do four items at once. The two also have a vinyl cutter and some other equipment to make their items.
For now, Cody and Joanie plan to run the business themselves. They’ve reached out to old clients and explained they’re starting things up slowly but are still looking forward to meeting new clients.
“God led us to this opportunity again and opened the doors for us … ,” Joanie said. “It’s a good opportunity for our family.”
According to the business’s website, “We use state-of-the-art equipment and premium materials to ensure every print is vibrant, durable and of the highest quality. Our commitment to customer satisfaction and attention to detail has made us a trusted name in the community. Thank you for choosing us for all your custom apparel needs.”
