HAROLD SNYDER
Harold D. “Huck” Snyder, 89, of Bethesda, Ohio, passed away at his home, peacefully, on December 27, 2020.
Born February 9, 1931 in Calais, Ohio, he was the son of the late George and Mildred Pierce Snyder.
In addition to his parents, Huck was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Sandra Snyder and brother, George Snyder.
A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Huck proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was instrumental in starting the Bethesda VFW Post 9712.
He was a Life Member at Large of the VFW, Life member of the American Legion, Commander of Belmont County Council, and All State Commander. Huck was a member of the Bethesda Church of Christ, loved boating and fishing, enjoyed traveling to Canada for several fishing trips, and was an avid animal lover. He took great joy in entertaining with his singing and playing guitar.
Huck’s memory will be treasured always by those who survive; daughter, Kimberly Carter-Cope (Thomas Cope) of Tipp City; sons, Jerome (Jacki) Snyder of Bethesda, Robin (Lori) Snyder of Covington, Charles (Barbara) Snyder of Tennessee, Harold (Janice) Snyder, Jr. of Flushing, David (Lisa) Taylor of Illinois; 17 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; sisters, Norma Marmie and Joyce Latham Conway both of Bethesda; and many, many dear friends and military comrades.
All are welcome for visitation, Wednesday, December 30, 2020 from 11:00 AM until the time of service, beginning at 1:00 PM, Patron Funeral Homes & Crematory Kelly Kemp Braido, 322 N. Main Street, Bethesda, Ohio.
Pastor Tim Snyder will be officiating.
Interment will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery, Bethesda.
