LOUIS KRUPA

Louis (Lou) Krupa, known affectionately as Pap Pap, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2024 at the Shadyside Care Center Nursing Home. He was 86 years old.

Lou was born March 5, 1938 to the late Andrew and Mary Krupa of Shadyside. And for the better part of 86 years, there he would remain! He was a proud graduate of Shadyside High School (Class of 56!). Shortly after high school, Lou enlisted into the U.S. Army. He served from 1959 to 1963 and was a proud veteran.

While in the military, Lou was stationed in Germany, where he met and married his loving wife of more than 50 years, Rosemarie Ursula Gallwas.

Lou spent the majority of his career working at the Shadyside Stamping plant while finishing his career at Navistar in Springfield Ohio. A lifelong Shadyside resident, Lou loved the outdoors, sports, and was an avid fan of anything Shadyside Tigers sports related.

Lou was preceded in death by his wife Rosemarie, his first son Edward, and sister Bonnie. Lou’s legacy is carried forward by his sons Erik (Kate) and Christian (Danon) along with 4 grandchildren: Matt, Alex, Robyn, and Chance. His memory will also be cherished by his sister Aggie, along with many extended family and friends.

The entire Krupa family would like to extend our sincere thanks to I.C. Cares who assisted with Lou’s care the last few years and offer an extra special thank you to Regina Spangenberg and Mary Valentino, who went out of their way to make Lou always feel special!

Following his wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Rather, Lou would want you to think of your fondest memory of him, smile, and lift a glass in remembrance. A private graveside service will be held at Belmont County Memorial Park Cemetery.

He will be greatly missed!
