RITA SMITH

She was born July 30, 1949, in Wheeling, WV, a daughter of the late Stanley F. Stando and Blanche Alice Harenza Stando.

Rita was a retired social worker from the Belmont County Community Action Committee. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the former St. Joseph’s Church in Fairpoint. Rita was a member of the Fairpoint Polish Club and enjoyed watching St. Clairsville and Notre Dame football.

Rita is survived by her husband, Eric T. Smith; two children, Kate (Ross) Subasic and Jacob (Melissa) Smith; three grandchildren, Claire and Jack Subasic and Nathan Smith; two sisters, Karen Dingey and Judith (Irv) Cilles; nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville for a memorial visitation on Thursday from 1:30 p.m. until time of memorial service at 2:30 p.m. with Father Thomas Chillog officiating.
