ROSALIE “ROSE” TROYANOVICH

Rosalie “Rose” Troyanovich, 99, of New Athens, OH., passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at Wheeling Hospital Continuous Care Center. She was born September 5, 1925 in Flushing, OH., the youngest daughter of the late John and Mary Zajec Miklovic. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, godmother, aunt, cousin and friend.

Rosalie was a Homemaker and a member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church and the Arbor Day Foundation. Rosalie lived a life sharing her love, kindness, generosity, wisdom and warmth. Always had a smile to brighten up the day, even on the challenging days.

She had a wonderful faith in God, and never wasted a minute of her 99 years here on Earth. She was active and supportive of all school activities of her children growing up and of the community of New Athens. She was a girl scout leader for over 14 years with many of her former scouts still sharing fond memories of their camping adventures at Bonnie Belmont. For many years, she planted flowers each summer at the Park in New Athens. She was active with baking crew at St. Nicholas Church as well as former Sunday School Teacher.

Rosalie loved nature, gardening, flowers, bird watching, and sitting on her front porch watching everything that nature had to offer. She was an excellent cook and baker and loved hosting family gatherings that created special memories.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, whom she married November 23, 1946, Andrew J. Troyanovich in 2005; an infant sister, Mary Miklovic, Johnny Miklovic, Jessie Armstrong, Ann Miklovic, Kathryn Leek, Frank Miklovic, Joseph Miklovic and Anthony “Tony” Miklovic; nephews, Bill Mick, Raymond Mick, Barry Tokar and James Mudrak; a godson, Joseph Graham.

Surviving are her children, Stephen (Rosario) Troyanovich of Florence, NJ., Mary Ann Troyanovich of Marietta, OH; a grandson, Dr. Esteban (Melissa) Troyanovich of Lumberton, NJ; three great grandchildren, Katie, Nathan Andrew and Amelia Troyanovich; nieces, Jessie Ann Leek (Bill Fant), Kathy Ann Tomkowski, Debbie (Mike) Smith and Rebecca Banks; nephews, Randy (Betty Jo) Sproull, Brian Tokar and Kevin Mudrak; a godson, Bill Graham; a special cousin, Dr. Jonathan (Martha) Graham.

Family and friends will be received on Monday from 3-5 & 6-8 pm at Toothman Funeral Home, St. Clairsville, OH., with a Parastas Service at 7 pm.

Funeral Liturgy will be held on Tuesday at 10 am at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, Barton, OH with Fr. Michael Kabel officiating with a Panichida Service at 9 am in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Longview Cemetery, New Athens.

Her family wishes to extend appreciation to Dr. Mercer and the staff of Wheeling Hospital Continuous Care Center, and to all members of Rosalie’s health care teams over the years, especially Dr. Patel, Dr. Wayne Groux, Dr. Triston Smith and nurse Mary, Katelyn Materkoski, her nurse practitioner. Also, a heartfelt thank you to special friends, Lesley Applegarth and Jane Griswald Tulpa.
