MARY JEAN RAMSAY
Mary Jean (Foster) Ramsay, 93, of Key, Ohio, went to Heaven Thursday, November 28, 2024, with her children by her side at Belmont Manor in St. Clairsville, Ohio.
Mary Jean was born September 27, 1931, in Belmont, Ohio, a daughter of the late Charles Foster and Lucy Ogilbee Foster.
Retired from the former Hills Department Store at the Ohio Valley Mall, Mary Jean enjoyed time spent with her family, playing Yahtzee and cards. She enjoyed reading, keeping up with the news with her church friends, and crocheting baby blankets for each of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of the Hillview Terrace Church of Christ in Moundsville and she loved her church family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her dear husband, Willard F. Ramsay in 2013; a son, Curtis Willard Ramsay; four sisters, Margaret Yost, Hazel Kemp, Audrey Christy and Helen Stonebraker; and a brother, Charles Foster.
Mary Jean is survived by her children, Dan (Jo Lee) Ramsay of Bellaire, Jerry (Cindy) Ramsay of Van Wert, Ohio and Tammy (George) Gruber of Wheeling, WV; nine grandchildren, Mark (Carrie) Ramsay, Krista (Ryan) Ruthers, Andrew Ramsay, Megan (Terry) McKinney, Allison Ramsay, Sam Karrasch, Ben Gruber, Mandy (Nate) Vapner and Melissa Long; twelve great grandchildren, Bryce, Bradie (Dylan), Tate, Ellie, Hannah, Logan, Gavin, Kylie, Lucy, Stevie, Bowen, Layla and her thirteenth, baby girl, McKinney due in March; and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Toothman Funeral Home in Jacobsburg, Ohio, where services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m., with Andy Robison officiating. The burial will follow in Concord Cemetery, Centerville.
The family would like to give special thanks to the nurses, aides and staff at Belmont Manor for their caring support.
