SHEILA ROSE “PIXIE” BOLTZ

Sheila Rose (Stottlemyer) Boltz (75), lovingly known as “Pixie,” of Powhatan Point, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 9, 2024. Sheila was born November 13, 1949 in Bellaire, OH. She was the daughter of the late Pauline (Richardson) and Clyde Stottlemyer.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Boltz whom she married on December 2, 1968; son, David Boltz; two brothers, Kenneth and Charles and two sisters, Marvelyn Saffell and Cathi Darrah.

Pixie is survived by her son, Daniel (Renni) Boltz; daughter-in-law, Tera Boltz; her six grandchildren whom she deeply cherished, Noah, Sidney, Valerie, Sophie, Molly and Ari, all of Powhatan Point, Ohio. Pixie is also survived by eight siblings: Mary “Vicci” (Lee) Biles of Zanesville, OH, Patricia “Patti” (Jeff) Daniels of Athens, OH, Barbara “Bobbi” Stottlemyer (Jim Kirkpatrick) of Texas, John (JoLynn) Stottlemyer of Shadyside, OH, Harry “Mike” (Janice) Stottlemyer of Powhatan Point, OH, Pamela (Ronnie) Hartley of Bellaire, OH, Diana “Dee Dee” (Donald) Mullett of Shadyside, OH, and Sherri (Denny) Deskins of Pataskala, OH and a brother in law, Robert D. Boltz of Powhatan Point, OH. She was cherished by numerous nieces and nephews, as well as great-nieces, great-nephews, and even great-great-nieces and nephews. She held her family close to her heart.

A devoted woman of faith, a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Pixie served God and adored her family and friends above all else. Her nurturing nature created a foundation of love and strength that will continue to guide those she held dear. Pixie’s grandchildren were her greatest joy, known as Deedee to the grandkids, she poured her heart into every moment spent with them, and created memories that will be treasured forever.

Pixie dedicated over 30 years of her life to a career in nursing, where her compassion, skill, and unwavering commitment to caring for others left a mark on countless lives. Pixie was a member of The First Presbyterian Church of Powhatan Point where she actively participated in church ministries, teaching Bible school, and singing with the choir. She taught the primary Sunday school class for many years; she introduced and taught young children core beliefs of the faith providing them with strong spiritual development was her generous spirit and her willingness to uplift those around her that led her to helping those in need. Whether through leading prayers, offering kind words, or working behind the scenes, Pixie was a constant source of inspiration and encouragement to all who knew her. Pixie was a 50 year member of Captina Chapter #489 Order of the Eastern Stars. She was active every year of her membership serving as Worthy Matron eighteen times. Honored as a Grand Representative to West Virginia in 2000 and a District Charities Representative. Pixie contributed as a member of the Powhatan High School Alumni Association Class of 1968 where she enjoyed planning, organizing, and attending events with alumni.

Pixie’s deep love for God shaped her life and inspired her interactions with others. Her unwavering faith and remarkable kindness, made her a source of comfort and encouragement to family, friends, and everyone she met. She never knew a stranger, she was a confidant to all. She had a unique ability to see the good in everyone, always asking about others and ready with a listening ear and a gentle word.

Family and friends will be received at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory 186 Main Street, Powhatan Point, OH 43942 on Friday, December 13, 2024, from 12 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with an Order of the Eastern Star service at 7:00 P.M. On Saturday December 14, 2024, family and friends will be received from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service at 12:00 P.M. at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Powhatan Cemetery in Powhatan Point, Ohio. The services will be held by Reverend Greg Stone.
