She leaves behind her loving family, husband of 59 years Walter Glen, sons Joseph Francis in Aurora, CO, Michael (Teresa) of Mount Perry, and sister Martha (George) McArthur of Ashburn, VA. She also leaves granddaughter Kaitlyn (Jeff) Wehrle and great-grandson Ronan, of Lancaster, Brooke (Austin) Howell and great-grandson Jaxson of Mount Perry, Johnny (Savanna) Owens and great-granddaughters Sophie and Athena of Mount Perry and John Law of Florida. Sally was born in Martins Ferry, OH and was a proud Purple Rider. Before Glen left for Vietnam, the couple married and spent almost two years apart while Sally completed her degree in Education. She enjoyed teaching at Neffs School outside of Bellaire, OH before deciding to start a family. Economic necessity sent her back to the workforce where she served as Employment Services Manager and HR Employment and Training Manager for Goodwill Columbus for many years. After moving to Perry County where they built their dream home in the woods, she served as the Associate Dean for Workforce Development for Zane State College in Zanesville, becoming the Campus Associate Dean for the Cambridge Campus. After 8 ¢ years she retired to take care of Glen who is a disabled Veteran. During this time, Sally served 9 years on the Perry County DD board with the last 2 years as its President. She also volunteered for RSVP leading Aqua Aerobics for many years.
Sally felt it took her many years to become complete. Her special long-time friends Charmyn Doty and Fay Barnhill helped her to achieve satisfaction in her life. Her desire was to love and help anyone and everyone she met.
Cremation has been handled by Roberts-Winegardner in New Lexington and the family will be having a celebration of her life at a later time.
In lieu of flowers, you may make donations to Mount Aloysius in New Lexington, OH.
