ANN KARPATHAKIS
Ann P. Karpathakis, age 93, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2025, at White Oak Manor in Waxhaw, NC. She was born on July 8, 1931, in Martins Ferry, Ohio, to the late Stamatis (Steve) and Katina (Katherine) Provezis.
Ann retired after 17 years of work with the Citizens Bank of Martins Ferry. She was a lifelong member of the Greek Orthodox Church of the Life-Giving Fountain. She was a gifted cook and baker and loved spending time with her family and friends telling stories. A Buckeye at heart, she was an avid football fan for The Ohio State University.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Gus Provezis, Jack Provezis, and Nick (Eva) Provezis, and nephew Tom Provezis, all born in Martins Ferry. Left to cherish her memory are her son George (Gina) Karpathakis, of Rutherfordton, NC, and grandchildren Stephen and Katherine Karpathakis of Charlotte, NC. A niece, Kay Ann (Bruce) Bennington, nephew Steve (Judy) Provezis, Cousin, Ann Lewis, and many great-nieces and nephews complete her family.
Visitation will be on Saturday, February 22, from 10:00 until 11:00 am with the Funeral Liturgy beginning afterward at 11:00 at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Life-Giving Fountain, 316 N. 5th St, Martins Ferry, OH 43935. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery at 12:00 noon.
The family wishes to thank the thoughtful staff at White Oak Manor in Waxhaw, NC, for their outstanding and compassionate care during Ann’s last years.
