JAMES GARLOCH

James Edward Garloch, 78, of Bellaire, Ohio passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at Valley Hospice North, Trinity West Hospital, Steubenville, Ohio. He was born August 11, 1946 in St. Joe, Ohio, a son of the late Charles Hubert “Chick” and Ivalene Anna Stewart Garloch.

Jim was retired from the former Marx Toy Factory, a Christian by faith and proudly served in the U.S Army during the Vietnam War. Jim enjoyed fishing and a love for birds. He was a handyman and loved to take walks.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister, Helen Garloch, siblings, Charles Harry Garloch, Russell Homer Garloch and Dorothy Ann “Dot” Seevers.

Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Mary “Kathy” Kirkpatrick Garloch of Bellaire; two daughters, Betty Ann (Jeff) Prohaska of Adena, Ohio and Jamie Lynn (Adam) Atkinson of St. Clairsville, Ohio; three sisters, Betty Lou McGarry of Glencoe, Ohio, Patricia Rose (Trevor) Howells and Nancy June Kimble both of Bellaire; grandchildren, Nicole Leigh Jasper, Kaitlyn Adair (Jeff) Fogle and Kristyn Renae (Cameron) Anderson; great grandchildren, Madisyn and Zane Anderson.

Family and friends will be received on Monday from 3-5 & 6-8 pm at Toothman Funeral Home, St. Clairsville. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 am with Chaplain Kris Bright officiating. Full Military Honors will be conducted by the Belmont County Veterans Association at 11 am in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio.
