RUTH TRAVIS
Ruth Travis, 81, of Tiltonsville, OH, formerly of Martins Ferry passed away peacefully Thursday, February 6, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was born on April 21, 1943, in Framingham, MA the daughter of the late Virginia (Scanlon) Durbin.
Ruth was a retired pharmacy technician with the former Griffith’s Pharmacy in Martins Ferry, and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Martins Ferry. Ruth was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved being with her family. She encouraged and celebrated her grandchildren’s successes. She was a fantastic cook who showed her love through feeding others. Ruth enjoyed playing cards and loved to laugh and joke.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Lisa Darlene Travis.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 62 years Dale Travis, sons: Mike (Patty) Travis, Tom (Meghan) Travis, Doug (Erin) Ellis; grandchildren: Lauren Lanham, Giuseppe Petrella, Cameron Travis, Sydney Ellis, Joey Ellis, Benny Travis; sister: Diane (Paul) Tocash and many nieces, nephews, Godchildren, and friends.
Honoring Ruth’s wishes a Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 11am at the First United Methodist Church, 307 Clay St., Martins Ferry, OH 43935. Burial to take please at the convenience of the family at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove. Arrangements have been entrusted to Wilson Funeral Home – Heslop Chapel, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH 43935.
