DOROTHY STOCK

Dorothy Jean “Dotzy” Garczyk Stock, 76, of Maynard, Ohio, passed with her sister by her side on February 25, 2025, peacefully and is now reunited with her family that went to Heaven previously.

She was born June 3, 1948, in Wheeling, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Casmer “Bill” Garczyk and Veronica Figura Garczyk.

Dotzy was a cook and bartender, having retired from the PNA Lodge #455 in Maynard. She was a 1966 graduate of Seton Central High School in Lafferty. Her love of family was strong, and she so enjoyed spending time with them and her friends. Dorothy lived life to the fullest, always being the “life of the party”, and enjoying her Wild Turkey. She enjoyed cooking and baking and was always doing for others. Dotzy loved polka dances and attending Maynard Baseball games, ringing her cow bell and rooting on her hometown team to victory. When she left Maynard, for health reasons, she moved to Cumberland Pointe Care Center. The staff there and the Amedisys Hospice staff took very good care of her and the family sends special thanks for their compassionate care.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Stock; a brother, William David Garczyk; a sister, Arlene Garczyk; and her brother-in-law, Wally Zielinski.

Dorothy is survived by her loving sister, Sandy Zielinski of Lafferty; a nephew, Monte Zielinski of Lafferty; a niece, Nancy Zielinski of St. Clairsville; two great nieces, Brittani Zielinski and Zoie Zielinski both of St. Clairsville; two great nieces, Kenneki and Reagan.

Honoring Dotzy’s wishes, following her cremation, there will be a memorial visitation held at the Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, Ohio on Thursday, March 6th from 5 to 8 p.m.

Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in St. Clairsville on Friday, March 7th at 10 a.m., the burial will follow in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lafferty Volunteer Fire Department.

Her family will cherish all the memories, and she will live on in their hearts forever. We Love You, Dotzy!
