EDDIE BROOKS
Lawrence Edward “Eddie” Brooks, 72, of Powhatan Point, Ohio, died March 21, 2025, after a several month illness.
He was born June 17, 1952, in Bellaire, Ohio, a son of the late Lawrence Brooks and Ellen E. “Betty” Brunner Brooks.
Eddie was a retired coal miner from Ohio Valley Coal Company #6 Mine. He was a member of the True Sportsman’s Club. Eddie enjoyed Nascar Racing, he collected classic Chevy cars and die cast cars, collecting coins, knives and guns and hunting and fishing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Nancy Graham and Darlene Brooks; and three brothers, Virgil, Donald and Earl Brooks.
Eddie is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Madelyn R. West Brooks; three children, Tabatha (Scott) Craig, Michael “Mike” (Priscilla) Brooks and Lawri (Jeremiah) Brown; five grandchildren, Chacity (Dan) VanDyke, Jade Craig, Kasey (Destinee) Craig, Raven Brooks and Brooke Brown; six great grandchildren, Craig, Danica, Briellia, Rhett, Crypton and Daxten; two sisters, Mary (Sammy) Baker and Delores (Levi) Haslam; and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of service at Noon at the Toothman Funeral Home in Jacobsburg, Ohio, with Rev. Bill Coker officiating. The burial will follow in Powhatan Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Columbus Children’s Hospital.
