NORMAN BRUTCHEY
Norman A. Brutchey, 82, of Neffs, Ohio passed away at his residence on Thursday, February 27, 2025.
He was born October 18, 1942, a son of the late Raymond and Bertha Bolon.
Norman dedicated much of his life to the field of education, impacting countless lives through his work as a principal at numerous schools, including Rose Hill Elementary, Key Ridge Elementary, Neffs Elementary, and Bellaire Elementary. In addition to his leadership roles in education, he served as a respected member of the school board for the Bellaire School District, where his commitment to the community and the betterment of educational standards was unwavering.
He pursued higher education with diligence, earning a Master’s Degree in Education from West Virginia University, reflecting his lifelong commitment to learning and teaching.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Norman was an active member of several local organizations. He was affiliated with the Neffs Rod and Gun Club, held the title of honorary member of the Neffs American Legion, and was formerly active in the Bellaire Elks. Additionally, he was a former member of the Coalbrook Presbyterian Church, where he participated in the community’s spiritual life.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Anne Brutchey, and sister-in-law, Mary Frances Maker.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Dawn Graf and her husband, Tracy, as well as his cherished grandchildren, Cameron, Broderick, and Duncan Graf. His memory will also be fondly remembered by a very large extended family and a host of friends who were privileged to know him.
Throughout his life, Norman A. Brutchey exemplified dedication to his family, his community, and the field of education.
His legacy will endure through the many lives he touched and the lasting contributions he made to the institutions he served.
Per Norman’s wishes, there will be no visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend the graveside service at Belmont Memorial Park in St. Clairsville, Ohio on Monday, March 24 at 1:00pm with Rev. David Demarest officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Bauknecht- Altmeyer Funeral Home 441 37th Street, Bellaire, Ohio 43906.
