DAVID BROKAW

David Lee Brokaw, age 83, of 683219 Morristown Flushing Road, Belmont, Ohio died at 8:48p.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2025 in Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling, West Virginia.

Born March 29, 1942 in Martins Ferry, Ohio; he was the son of the late Fred Leroy Brokaw and Kathryn Elizabeth Kennedy Brokaw.

He was a 1960 graduate of Cadiz High School. David worked for his father as an auto body technician at B&B Motor Services in Cadiz for seven years, then went to Consol where he was a heavy equipment operator for thirty years, retiring in 1996. He also was a co-founder, owner, and operator of the Hillbilly Hide-Away Campground of Freeport until 2004.

David enjoyed deer and squirrel hunting. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Belmont and the Belmont County Museum Association. He was a devoted husband and loved to help his daughters and their families with various projects.

His wife of sixty-four years, Loruma “Lori” Jones Brokaw, survives. They were married in March 11, 1961. Also surviving are three daughters: Susan Lenevich of Indiana, Pennsylvania, Kathy (Rich) Delbridge of Belmont, and Dawn Leanne (John) Brokaw-Howell of Flushing; five grandsons: Craig Lenevich, Vincent Lenevich, Richie Delbridge, John Howell and Ben Howell; a sister Elizabeth Murray of Sun City Center, Florida; and several neices and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Fred C. Brokaw.
