DAVID MYERS

David “Dave” Wayne Myers, 77, of Shadyside, Ohio, passed away at his residence on April 10, 2025.
Born on December 11, 1947, in Wheeling, West Virginia. He was the son of Helen (Ritchie) and Wilbur Myers, who preceded him in death. Dave was also preceded by his brother, Sonny Myers, and sister Betty Gwennap.
Dave graduated from Wheeling High School in the class of 1965 before serving his country as a proud veteran of the United States Army. His service included a memorable tenure cooking for fellow veterans in Alaska–best known for his legendary mashed potatoes.
After his military service, Dave returned home and spent years working as a coal miner at North American number 4 and the Belmont County Courthouse.
He was an avid swimmer and member of American Legion Post 1 in Wheeling.
Surviving Dave is his devoted fiancee, Judi Arno; children whom he loved as his own, Tiffany (Matt) Crozier and Sean (Anne) Arno; and grandchildren, Tristan Arno, Nick Arno, Tanner Crozier, Logan Crozier, and Luke Crozier. Sisters, Sondra Jamison, Linda (Ron) Wilke, a brother Chuck Myers, a brother in law, Bob Gwennap. A special niece Stephanie (Mark) Kollar and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to honor Dave at the Bauknecht Altmeyer Funeral Home, located at 3900 Central Avenue, Shadyside, Ohio, on Friday, April 18. A Veterans presentation and Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm, officiated by Rev. Messham, followed by a Memorial Gathering from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
