LARRY AKERS

He was born October 8, 1940 in Tiltonsville, OH the son of the late Melvin and Ruth Jones Akers.

Larry was a retired Disabled Veterans Representative from Wheeling Job Services and worked at Moore’s Lumber for 29 years. He was a member of Lawrencefield Parish Church; DAV Marine Corps League, Warwood Vets, Snake Club, and Cave Club; was a US Marine veteran.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette Ann Akers; four brothers, Richard Akers, Daniel Jeffers, James Akers, and Thomas Stalker; and a sister, Judith Reasbeck.

Survivors include his loving companion, Kathleen; a son, Brian (Venus) Akers of Sugar Hill, GA; a sister, Regina Lambert of Bridgeport, OH; five grandchildren, Cody Akers, Justin Akers, Nathan Akers, Nicolette Hughes, and Samantha Hughes; and several nieces and nephews.

Private services will be held at Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling.
