ROLAND EASTON

Roland “Stu” Easton, 87, of Williamsport, passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at The Williamsport Home. Born January 9, 1938, in Williamsport, PA, he was a son of the late Ernest and Mildred (Horn) Easton. He and his wife Nancy shared a wonderful life together, married for over 45 years.
Roland was previously employed as an Operating Engineer for over 50 years, and a Road Superintendent for Upper Fairfield Township for 10 years until his retirement. He also served in the Navy Reserves. Roland was a member of the NRA, the Hughesville Moose Lodge, and the American Legion Post 268. He often attended church services at the Community Baptist Church in Montoursville. In his spare time, Roland was an avid antique collector and had an extensive collection of tractors and farming equipment. His favorite tractor was lovingly known as his “Junkyard Dog”. He often enjoyed hunting and going to tractor shows, as well as dinners with his wife.
Roland is survived by his loving wife, Nancy (Wright) Easton, of Williamsport; a sister, Patricia K. Tilley, of Williamsport; a sister-in-law, Josephine Halterman, of Snellville, GA; several nieces and nephews; and a close friend, William Hanna, of Montoursville.
In addition to his parents, Roland was preceded in death by a sister, Beatrice Paulhamus, and a brother, Warren Easton.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 17, at McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 733 Broad Street Montoursville, with Pastor Greg Sanford officiating. Burial will follow at Cherry Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday at the Funeral Home.
