TONY CLARK

Joseph Anthony “Tony” Clark, 80, of Washington, PA, formerly of St. Clairsville, passed away at home on April 3, 2025.
Tony was born on August 22, 1944, in Daviess County, KY. He was born to the late Aloysius and Leona Clark and was lovingly raised by his uncle and aunt, the late Jesse and Magdalene Morris, who provided a nurturing and supportive home.
Tony was devoted to his family and is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Jean Clark. He is also survived by his children Amy (Tim) Silmon and Chris (Darcy) Clark; grandchildren Ryan (Priscilla) Schlei, Barrett (Dura) Schlei, Weston Schlei, Morgan (Scott) Stanley, and Dakota Clark; great–grandchildren Hayden, Zoe, and Spencer Schlei; brother Edward Clark; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. He was a caring father, papa and great–papa, and his family was always his greatest joy.
Tony had a grand enthusiasm for exploration and adventure, traveling the world throughout his career in marketing and sales. Formerly a member of St. Mary’s Parish, Tony was a faithful Catholic all of his life.
Tony had a deep love for the outdoors, spending countless hours hunting, fishing, and shooting, finding peace and joy in nature. He was also passionate about telling tall tales, always ready with a story that would entertain and captivate. A true craftsman at heart, he loved to build–his son often remarked, ‘It wasn’t always pretty, but it would never fall down,’ a testament to his dedication and skill.
In addition to his parents and aunt and uncle, Tony was also preceded in death by his sisters Dorothy Tillburg, Martha Delacey, Patti Ponton, and great–granddaughter Saylor Schlei.
A memorial mass will be held at St. Mary’s Church in St. Clairsville on Friday, May 16 at 4:00 pm. The family will greet friends at the church from 3:30 pm until the time of the service. Light refreshments will be served afterward. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Washington City Mission at give.citymission.org, a cause close to Tony’s heart.
Tony will be dearly missed by all who knew him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of his loved ones.
