Harrison Central Husky staff set to lead Ohio team

WHEELING — Anthony Hayes and his Harrison Central staff will lead the Ohio All Stars into Saturday night’s clash with West Virginia in the 78th annual OVAC Rudy Mumley All-Star Football Classic at Wheeling Island.

The Huskies went 9-3 and advanced to the second round of the OHSAA Division V, Region 17 playoffs before falling.

∫ ANTHONY HAYES — A 1996 graduate of Cadiz High School, Hayes has been coaching football for 21 years, the last six as head coach of the Huskies. His other stops include Green and Cadiz high schools.

For his team’s accomplishments last fall, Hayes was selected the Eastern District Coach of the Year in Division V. He is 31-28 in his career.

Hayes and his wife, Megan, have two daughters, Kendall (12) and Kinsey (10). They reside in Cadiz.

∫ BILL BRYANT — A graduate of Heidelberg College, Bryant also serves as the Huskies head wrestling coach. He is in his 23rd year of coaching.

Bryant is a graduate of Cadiz High School and has also coached track.

Bryant and his wife, Angela, have three children: Cael, Aubrey and Brasen. They reside in Dennison.

∫ TY KENNY — A former three-sport standout for the Huskies, Kenney played football, basketball and ran track during his high school days.

He has been coaching football for 14 years, with eight of those coming at his alma mater.

Kenney serves as the seventh grade boys basketball coach and the head girls track coach at Harrison Central.

Kenney and his wife, Kara, have one daughter: Alivia. They reside in Cadiz.

∫ DAVID NAMETH — This Cadiz High School graduate was selected to play in the 1992 OVAC Rudy Mumley game, however, the contest was rained out.

He has coached football for the Huskies for the last five years and has also helped with the wrestling program.

He resides in Cadiz with his girlfriend, Emily Coultrap. Nameth has three daughters: Shianne, Shaniel and Shayla.

∫ ROGER HERBERT — A graduate of Union Local High School, Herbert served as an assistant coach for the Jets and also was head coach of the UL softball program. He then served as head football coach at Buckeye Local for four years and the head baseball coach for one. He also helped with the Panthers’ wrestling program.

He has 21 years as a football coach, 17 as an assistant. He has been with the Huskies for two seasons.

Herbert and his wife, Melanie, have two sons: Lane (21) and Trevor (19). They reside in Dillonvale.

∫ CAIN NOBLE — He is also a Buckeye Local graduate and has 20 years of football coaching experience, with 13 of those coming at Harrison Central. His other stops include Buckeye Local and Edison.

A Fairmont State University alum, Noble has also coached baseball.

He and his wife, Caitlin, have two children: Jackson (8) and Jordyn (4). They reside in Yorkville.

∫ DREW CASE — Another graduate of Cadiz High School, Case has been with the Huskies for three of his six seasons coaching football. He also coached three years at Cadiz.

The Ohio University graduate is also an assistant wrestling coach and has coached baseball and softball in the past.

He and his wife, Corisa, have two daughters: Camryn and Kenna. They reside in Adena.

∫ MARK SMITH — This former Cadiz Cardinal played in the 1994 OVAC Rudy Mumley All-Star Classic. He has been coaching the Huskies for the last six years.

He served in the United States Army for six-and-a-half years and also attended the EGCC Police Academy.

He and his wife, Christina, have three sons: Mark, Matthew and Michael. They reside in Cadiz.

∫ A.J. BARSCH — A graduate of Buckeye Local where he coached for two years, Barsch has been with Harrison Central for the past eight seasons.

He was a three-sport performer (football, basketball and baseball) at Buckeye Local. He was a member of the coaching staff on the Harrison Central baseball team that advanced to the Division II state finals in 2023.

He resides in Cadiz.

∫ IAN WHITE — A graduate of Harrison Central, White has coached with the Huskies for six seasons. He has also coached baseball and basketball.

He was a three-sport performer for the Huskies (football, basketball and baseball).

He and his fiance, Hannah Mattern, reside in Cadiz. He also has a daughter, Caelyn White (9).
