BEVERLY — St. Clairsville Post 159 advanced to the championship game of the Region 8 American Legion Tournament Friday in exciting fashion.
With the score tied at 3 with Marietta, Post 29 balked in the winning run with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning to give Post 159 a 4-3 victory on the Fort Frye High School diamond.

Should they lose, the winner-take-all game will be Sunday at 1 p.m.
Left-handers Sylus Hyde and Dylan Blon combined on a two-hitter. Hyde worked 4.1 hitless innings, fanning seven but walking five. Blon earned the win with 2.2 innings of relief. He struck out four and walked just one while serving up two hits.
Peyton Blue doubled twice and drove in two runs to lead St. Clairsville’s five-hit attack. Brody Saunders added an RBI single.
