St. Clairsville girls soccer take down John Marshall Monarchs

JOHN MARSHALL — The St. Clairsville Red Devils took down the John Marshall Monarchs on the road Wednesday in girls soccer action, 8-1.

St. Clairsville’s Ashlynn Lednik had a hat trick plus one, with four goals and one assist to boot in a huge day.

Emma Gasber had two goals, and Elizabeth Morgan had two goals and one assist of her own. Olivia McKeever tallied two assists and aIsabella Yeager had one.

St. Clairsville wraps up their regular season on Oct. 16 at home against Wheeling Central. John Marshall next plays Beaver Local at home on Oct. 12.

Wheeling Central def. Shadyside

25-17, 25-14, 25-21

WHEELING — The Maroon Knights topped the Tigers in an OVAC consolation match Wednesday.

Shadyside was led by Sophie Boltz on Wednesday, the senior collecting team-highs in kills with seven and digs with 14. Addasyn Melanko was close behind with six kills along with six digs. Aubrey Nippert had five kills and six digs.

Ali Weatherson paced the Tigers with 19 assists, also adding seven digs against the Maroon Knights.
