Bellaire wins with buzzer-beater

BELLAIRE — Riley Robbins only scored three points Thursday night, but it was when he scored them.

Trailing 77-75 with time running out in double overtime, Robbins let a three-pointer fly that splashed the cords as the buzzer sounded, lifting the Big Reds (3-3) to a thrill-packed, 78-77, victory.

Raekwon Pettigrew netted a career-high 41 points for Bellaire, which also received two dozen lightings from Caleb Jewell.

The contest was knotted at 56 at the end of regulation and both teams scored 10 points in the first OT.

Casey Carpenter paced the Shamrocks with 26 points. Ryker Willis added 20, Braedon Willis 13 and Blake Burkhart 11.

East Liverpool 58,

Harrison Central 35

Cadiz — The Potters held a 22-12 lead at the half but went on a 25-10 scoring advantage in the third quarter to pull away from the host Huskies.

Brady Elliott was the lone Harrison Central player in double digits with 10.

GIRLS

River 50, Buckeye Local 23

CONNORVILLE — The Pilots were led by Reese Hobbs with 13 points. Kaylee Hagan and Zoey Fox added 11 each. Maddy Roset and Alyssa Dailey evenly split 22 points for the Panthers.

Barnesville 51, Shadyside 35

SHADYSIDE — Maddy Tyson scored 22 points as the Shamrocks picked up a road win over the Tigers.

Aiva Leisure added nine for the winners.

Giovanna Hiones led Shadyside with 17. Kaci Tsoras finished with 10.
