Shadyside downs visiting Buckeye Local
SHADYSIDE — Shadyside trailed visiting Buckeye Local by a point, 39-38, after three quarters Saturday afternoon in girls’ high school basketball action, but the Tigers used a 22-11 advantage in the fourth quarter to rally for a 60-50 victory.
Kasmryn Parker netted eight of her 12 points in the fourth quarter to spark the surge. Kaci Tsoras added five of her game-high 19. Giovanni Hines finished with 12, as well.
The Panthers were led by Brooke Driscoll with 17 and Maddy Roset with 15.
Martins Ferry 75, St. Clairsville 25
MARTINS FERRY — The Purple Riders scored more points in the first quarter (32) than the Red Devils did in the game inside Tolbert Gymnasium.
Five Martins Ferry players reached double digits, led by Giana Chirpas with 14. S.J. Koller and Maddie Lucas each had 11, while Lindsey Best and Alivia Reese evenly split 20.
Anna Kain paced St. Clairsville with nine, all coming on three’s.

Fort Frye 48, Monroe Central 26
MARIETTA — The Cadets outscored the Seminoles 18-4 in the second quarter and coasted from there on.
Mayzie Emery led Monroe Central (7-4) with 12 points. Jacey English had six rebounds.
Emmie Duskey paced Fort Frye with 17.
Fairland 49, Wheeling Park 47
MARIETTA — The Dragons escaped Marietta College with a narrow victory over the Patriots.
Alexis Bordas scored 30 points for Wheeling Park (5-2). Bordas also had five rebounds and four steals. Maggie Hupp scored seven with two blocks and five rebounds of her own.

TORONTO — The Dukes rallied from an early deficit to nip the Huskies.
Brady Elliott fired in 23 points, including 15 on three’s, to lead Harrison Central. Reed Arbaugh added 12.

St. Clairsville 70, Smithville 59
HILAND — The three-headed monster of Griffin Straub (25), Tyson Pastor (20) and Brady Schafer (17) scored all but eight of the Red Devils points.
Ollie Muhly had the remaining eight.
Magnolia 78, Valley 54
NEW MARTINSVILLE — Kingston Christen scored 20 points, Scott Bailey added 18 and Hunter Oates had 14 for the Blue Eagles.
Gavin Derby led the Lumberjacks with 14, one more than Trevor Stackpole.
Paden City 57, Beallsville 43
PADEN CITY — Brayden Neff had 21 points, 10 rebounds and five steals in leading the Wildcats past the Blue Devils.
Jameson Bable had 18 for Beallsville.
Cameron 40, St. Marys 48
ST. MARYS — The Blue Devils pulled away in the fourth quarter to claim victory over the Dragons.
Leading 22-21 at halftime and trailing 32-30 after three quarters, St. Marys went into high-gear in the fourth quarter. Preston Lawhon scored 10 of his game-high 22 in the quarter for St. Marys.
Mason Scott led Cameron (0-2) with 16 points. Carter Paczewski followed with eight.
Marietta 69, Wheeling Park 38
MARIETTA — The Patriots (1-3) fell to the Tigers in their hometown River City Classic at Marietta College.
Marietta was led in scoring by Zaiden Wittekind with 20 while Trey Hawkins added 13.
Wheeling Park received eight points apiece from Kolten Whitmire, Sincear Saunders-Paige and JD Williams.
Marietta led by 22 at halftime.
