CAMBRIDGE — Eight local head basketball coaches and eight players have earned All-Eastern District honors as voted upon by members of the Eastern District media.

On the boys side, Steubenville’s Mike Haney was the Division III Co-Coach of the Year, with Monroe Central’s Mason Lang and Steubenville Catholic’s Don Ogden earning the same honor in Division VI and VII, respectively.

Big Red’s Aiden Davis was the Division III Player of the Year, while Martins Ferry’s Alex Reese was a Co-Player of the Year in Division V; the Seminoles’ Tucker Howell in D-VI and the Crusaders’ Benji Rook in D-VII.

On the girls side, Steubenville’s Angie Forte (D-III), Indian Creek’s Steve Eft (D-IV) and Bellaire’s John Farrier (D-VI) were all voted Co-Coaches of the Year. Martins Ferry’s Dave Reasbeck and Union Local’s Lou “Scooter” Tolzda were two of the Tri-Coaches of the Year in Division V.

Indian Creek’s McKenna Scott was voted the Player of the Year in Division IV.

Big Red’s Nylah McShan (D-III), Martins Ferry’s Lindsey Best (D-V) and Bellaire’s Zara Harveth (D-VI) were all Co-Players of the Year.
