Cameron tops Paden City, 19-0

CAMERON — Hunter Evans fired a no-hitter and Cameron scored 10 times in the bottom of the first inning in routing visiting Paden City, 19-0, Tuesday on the Cameron Community Park diamond. Evans fanned 12, including an immaculate second inning when he struck out the Wildcats on just nine pitches. A walk kept him from a perfect game.

West Starcher, although he didn’t have a base hit, drove in four runs. Kason Angel knocked in three with two singles and a triple. Dane Dalesio had three singles and an RBI.Zayde Long singled twice to plate a pair and Brody Smith singled twice, doubled and drove in a run.

Union Local 6, John Marshall 5

MORRISTOWN — The Jets held off a late rally by the Monarchs in posting a narrow win.

Hayden Jenkins and Bill Schumacher evenly divided four singles, with Jenkins collecting an RBI. Logan Hess and Karson Grigatis each singled in a run. Brody Gregor earned the mound win.

Nathan Hughes singled twice, tripled and knocked in a run for John Marshall. Hayden Gaiser singled thrice and plated a run. Kayden Knapp had a single and double.

St. Clairsville 9, Cambridge 8

ST. CLAIRSVILLE — The Red Devils (11-1) scored six times in the bottom of the first inning and never looked back in holding off the visiting Bobcats on Unified Field at the Junior Sports Complex.

Mikey Balgo singled, doubled and knocked in two runs for St. Clairsville. Colten Florence singled twice and picked up an RBI.

Niko Jacob earned the mound win in relief. Ryan Ivey picked up the save.

Bridgeport 3, Jefferson

Co. Christian 2, 8 inn.

WINTERSVILLE — Carson Sauvageot and Connor Nelson shined on the mound as the Bulldogs slipped past the Royals in extra innings. Sauvageot fanned 10 in five-plus innings. Nelson earned the win with four punchouts in relief.

A wild pitch allowed Bridgeport to score the go-ahead run in the top of the eighth.

Danny Goff had three hits for Bridgeport while Savaugeot had an RBI single in the sixth to tie the game. Jaki Threet had an RBI double.

Indian Creek 17, East Liverpool 0

MINGO — Hunter Allen and Max Lane combined on a four-hit shutout as the Redskins (10-1) pounded the visiting Pottersin four-and-a-half innings. Allen fanned two and walked one in four frames. Lane struck out three in his inning of work.

Ty Householder drove in three runs with a single and triple, while Sy Barcalow singled twice to knock in three. Sylus Hyde and Stan Amis had a single each and two RBI.

River 6, Barnesville 1

HANNIBAL — The Shamrocks struck first to lead 1-0 after the second inning, but the Pilots scored the next six, including a four-spot in the sixth inning.

Easton Huntsman tallied three hits for River, including a double while driving in two. Teammate Kaden Hunt pitched a complete game, striking out nine. Trey Larrick and Lucas Dennis each had two hits apiece.

Casey Carpenter drove in Barnesville’s lone run. Marshall Meade started the game for the ‘Rocks, pitching five innings of two-run ball while striking out five.

SOFTBALL

Monroe Central 14, Shenandoah 1

WOODSFIELD — The Seminoles pounded out 16 hits as winning pitcher Karlie Haslam led the way with a trio of singles, a double and three RBI. Brylee McFrederick singled thrice to drive in a run, while Maclarin Craft knocked in two with a single and double and Olivia Earley had a two-run double.

Haslam fanned five and walked one. She gave up one hit.

River 10, Bellaire 4

ST. JOE — Ava Wohnhas struck out 11, scattered six hits, doubled twice and singled to drive in two runs as the Pilots navigated past the host Big Reds.

Jayda Kinney-Blair had a trio of one-base hits, while Beri Wiley singled twice and doubled.

Addison Kovach singled, doubled and had two RBI for Bellaire. Rylie Porter singled twice.

Barnesville 7, Buckeye Local 2

BARNESVILLE — The Shamrocks moved to 13-2 on the year with a strong showing against the Panthers.

Maddy Tyson drove in two on two hits, a single and a double, while Peyton Loudin finished a homer shy of the cycle and catcher Lilly Welch smacked a triple as well. Loudin and Abigail Johnson combined inside the circle, Loudin pitching the first 3.2 innings and Johnson pitching the final 3.1 innings.
