Monroe Central’s Tucker Howell is selected D-VI Player of Year

COLUMBUS — The honors keep rolling in for Monroe Central boys basketball standout Tucker Howell.
The 6-2 senior who led the Seminoles to the Ohio Division VI state championship late last month, was recently named the Division VI Player of the Year by the Ohio High School Basketball Coaches Association.
Howell averaged 15 points and eight rebounds a game for Monroe Central which ended the season on a seven-game winning streak to finish at 26-3. Two of the Seminoles’ three setbacks came to W.Va. Class AA state titleist Wheeling Central.
However, his numbers are a little skewed as he only played about three quarters a night due to blowout victories.
Howell was a second team all-state selection by the Ohio Sports Writers Association.
Other honorees include Division I — Devin Brown (Olentangy Orange); Division II — Tai Perkins (Westerville North); Division III — Jaiden Arnold (Cincinnati Aiken); Division IV — RJ Greer (Kettering Alter); Division V — Dorian Jones (Richmond Heights) and Division VII — Quinn Kwasniak (Cornerstone Christian Academy).
